This was the first beauty expo that I’ve attended and the first event I’ve gone to as official press. Being a beauty editor, I was able to attend the expo early on the Wednesday, August 22 from 2-5 p.m. before it was open to the general public. This gave me the opportunity to take my time, scope out brands, and take in everything without an excessive amount of people crowding up each booth! I also had the chance to connect with vendors on a different level being part of the industry. This expo really excited me with all indie brands in attendance from all over (across the states and world)! I loved being able to see up-and-coming companies with fresh ideas for the beauty industry.
There were over 200 brands in this year’s exhibitor lineup, ranging from cosmetics to skin care to hair to fragrance. You can check out the lineup here. Companies really did travel from all over. I met people who came from California, Canada, and even Australia! Each booth was decorated beautifully to bring each brand to life. One booth that really stood out to me was the skin care brand Taïla. The booth featured zen music, a bird bath with flowers floating in it, lots of greenery, and small cups of tea featuring some of the ingredients in their skin care products! It was beautifully put together and really complemented the natural, pure essence the brand offers with their products.
I was lucky enough to receive some amazing products to try. Here are a few that I’ve had the chance to use (and love) and some that I haven’t had the chance to try but can’t wait to use in my routine!
Black Chicken Remedies Serenity Nasalette Natural Essential Oil Inhaler: This is a product I’ll be keeping in my purse from now on. Wellness is so important. This essential oil inhaler is small enough to bring whenever you go. The serenity scent is meant to help with anxiety and calm your mind. I highly recommend grabbing one of these!
Flora•py Beauty Even Skin Tone Sheet Mask – Sunflower Lemon: I’ll admit this face mask immediately caught my eye because of its sunflower lemon formula and scent, but I’m so glad I was able to snag it! I used this sheet mask last night to give my skin an extra boost. My skin felt more hydrated, soothed, and looked brighter after using it once.
Tulip Calming & Centering Lavender Body Cream: While I’ve yet to start using this body cream regularly, I did get the chance to try it at the expo and fell in love. The cream is meant to soothe areas of discomfort on the body, and I felt it did as soon as I tried it. I constantly have sore areas of my body from working out and my long commute, so I’m looking forward to see how this works to ease some of that!
