I’ve recently started a position in New York City. While I absolutely love it, the commute is something that I’m not a huge fan of. In order to get where I need to be, I need to be up, ready and out the door by 6 a.m. Luckily, I’ve mastered doing my makeup in 10 minutes (or sometimes less) so I can enjoy those extra few minutes of sleep.
How to Get the Look
Step 1: Moisturize
Before putting on any makeup, I apply a moisturizer to my face to make sure my skin is smooth and hydrated. I love the CeraVe Daily Moisturizing Lotion because it moisturizes my skin without leaving it feeling greasy.
Step 2: Apply Foundation
Once my skin is prepped, I apply my go-to foundation: the L’Oréal Paris Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation. This foundation lasts all day and gives me great coverage allowing me to skip concealer on most days.
Step 3: Use a Bronzer
I grab my Benefit Cosmetics Hoola Matte Bronzer and brush this in the hallows of my cheeks for some quick color.
Step 4: Grab Your Blush
No look is complete without a blush. I’ve recently started using the Bare Minerals Loose Powder Blush in Hint. I love this color because it gives me the perfect balance between a natural flush and an accentuated cheekbone.
Step 5: Highlight Your Cheekbones
If you’re in a rush, this step is totally optimal but takes me about 30 seconds. I use the Benefit Cosmetics High Beam Liquid Highlighter. I put a few small dots along my cheekbone and pat it in with my finger.
Step 6: My Quick-Makeup-Look Best Friend
There are a few things that allow my makeup look to be so quick, the major one being my eye makeup. On days that I work, I don’t feel the need to wear eyeshadow. If I do feel like wearing it, I’ll only put a neutral shade in my crease.
I have eyelash extensions so there is no need for mascara! The drama of my lashes also allows me to get away with my wearing a shadow. You can read about how I do my eyelash extensions myself here.
The only makeup I apply on my eyes is black eyeliner in my waterline. I use the Wet n Wild MegaLast Retractable Eyeliner in Blackest Black followed by the Jordana Cosmetics Shadow Singles in Black Magic applied with a small flat top brush to ensure it lasts throughout the day.
Step 7: Lipstick
I always apply a lip balm prior to any other lip product. Once my lips are hydrated, I reach for whatever neutral lip color I’m in the mood for that day. The NYX Cosmetics Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Soft-Spoken is usually my go-to.
