This year has marked so many milestones in my life. Both big and small, good and bad; I’m very grateful for all that this past year has given and taken from me. While there are endless memories and people to be thankful for, here are a few things I’m looking back on with gratitude now that 2017 has come to a close.
1. Losing and Gaining (Always)
2017 showed me who the most important people in my life are. It was the year of losing people I thought would be there for years to come and gaining new people that I know will be there.
2. “You Feel Like Home” (April 2017)
Arguably one of the best decisions I made during my college career was auditioning for the Blue Hawk Records tenth compilation album. It was beyond cool to see one of my original songs come to life. Feel free to take a listen here.
3. Seeing John Mayer in Concert for the First Time (April 2017)
John Mayer is by far my favorite musician. Words cannot describe the way his music makes me feel. Seeing him live in concert for the first time was a night I truly will never forget.
4. The Year of Rad Photoshoots (Possibly Too Often)
5. Starting Living with Nic (May 2017)
And here we are!
6. My Summer Internship (May 2017)
I had the honor of interning for The Tree of Health Center. While my internship taught me plenty of skills to utilize in my career, it also taught me so much about myself. I am very privileged to have been enlightened by their concept of MARCI, (Mindfulness, Awareness, Responsibility, Compassion, and Intuition) and try my best to implement it in my daily life.
7. Turning 21 (June 2017)
8. Getting in the Best Shape to Date (From Now On)
Fitness not only became one of my main priorities in 2017, but a true enjoyment for me. Going to the gym and working out is something I love to do. I’m excited to test my boundaries and get stronger and healthier this year.
9. Hiking at Sam’s Point Preserve (August 2017)
10. My Final Semester of College (September 2017)
The memories I made this final semester will be with me forever. Monmouth University will forever have a place in my heart.
11. Allll the Coffee (And More to Come)
12. Graduating College (December 2017)
Though my diploma will say January 2018, 2017 will always be the year that I completed one of my biggest accomplishments to date: college. It’s still so surreal to me.
Thank you 2017 for all that you have brought me this year. 2018, you have big shoes to fill.
